All I can is WOW! I really had no idea what I was in for arriving in Phuket at 1:20AM this Monday morning, but I have been pleasantly surprised. I know in my heart this decision was one of my best. Today, wasn't stressful at all! I was picked up at the airport by a friend of mine, and he took me in for the night. It was such a great feeling not to be scared being in a foreign country all alone. Hours later it was time for the Asia Exchange orientation. We were taken by bus to a resort by the name of Merlin Beach. It was absolutely gorgeous. We were greeted by the faculty of the University and given a nice warm welcome. In the process I became close with two girls by the name of Jasmine and Jenny. They are both from Finland and seem to be such good people. I am so excited for the next couple of months. The program organized team building activities on the beach, I had a blast! We made sandcastles, played tug-o-war and beach volleyball, and even a relay race using a coconut (don't ask haha). Lots of good memories even on the very first day. The water was warm and clear it reminded me of Cancun, Mexico. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world! I am already learning so much about myself, other cultures, and how to truly appreciate what we have...AND it's only just begun. I cannot wait for this semester to begin. So glad I made this trip a must for me, I have a feeling I will not be regretting this decision EVER! Everyone is so kind, and always smiling. This life changing event will be worth every penny. I strongly recommend everyone to study abroad :)
